Universal Wrecking Corp. was tasked with a technical demolition project at a former chemical manufacturing plant that required both interior and exterior demolition services.

Prior to demolition services, asbestos abatement of piping and other asbestos containing materials was completed.

Interior demolition services required a complete gut out of the interior of the facility. This included removal of all all piping, conduit, pumps, vessels, tanks, equipment and a large steel and concrete mezzaine. To acccomplish this task UWC utilized their skilled demolition technicians to surgically cut and remove these items without damaging the structural steel members to remain. The expert demolition crews used manlifts and scissor lifts and demolition torches to perform the cutting operations.

UWC was also able to get their smaller Caterpillar excavator with a shear attachment into the larger section of the facility to make quick work of the larger tanks and vessels. It also assisted in sizing the other metal prices into scrap metal.

Following interior demolition services, UWC had to remove a series of roof top vessels and well as a cluster of silos on the side of the building. UWC utilized a crane and their Caterpillar excavator to rig and load the silos for direct shipment to the scrap metal recycling facility.

UWC also performed the removal of 2 large aluminum silos. These silos were rigged down and carefully placed on their sides for sale by the client.

The project was successfully completed in less then 2 months without incident or injury.

March 2008 – Universal Wrecking Corp. ( www.universalwrecking.com ), a premier demolition contractor that operates on a nationwide basis, recently celebrated their 10th year in business.

Steve Vesseli, President started Universal Wrecking Corp. (UWC) 10 years ago with the concept of providing a complete suite of services to clients instead of just being known as specialty contractor. An example of the type and size of project UWC can now perform is the demolition of a large hospital in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. March 2008 - Universal Wrecking Corp. (http://www.universalwrecking....), a building demolition contractor company providing nationwide demolition and salvage services, recently completed the demolition of a 4500 Manitowoc crane for a private client in Pennsylvania (PA).

Universal Wrecking Corp (UWC) was contracted by a private client to demolish the 4500 Manitowoc Crane which was located on one of the major coal mines in Pennsylvania. The crane was obsolete and had not been operational for several years. The dragline crane total weight was estimated at 300 Gross Tons.

Prior to actual demolition of the crane, several tasks needed to be completed. From an environmental standpoint, all fluids were drained from the crane. All collected fluids were then properly handled and disposed or recycled offsite. UWC also salvaged all reuseable parts which included tracks and other crane components.

Following these pre-demolition activities, the crane was then surgically dismantled using laborers with cutting torches. The demolition crew carefully cut the crane into sections and then further sized the metals into manageable pieces. These pieces of scrap metal were then sorted and placed in containers. The scrap metal was then sent offsite for recycling.

Due to the amount of spare parts recovered and the value of the scrap metal, UWC was able to return a significant payment to the client. The client was pleased with the payment as well as the fact that the work was completed on schedule and with no injuries or incidents.

January 2008 - Universal Wrecking Corp. (website http://www.universalwrecking.... ) recently completed a scrap metal recycling and removal project in New Jersey for a large industrial client.

The project consisted of the removal of various obsolete pieces of equipment, scrap metal piles and other metal structures that had accumulated in the client's boneyard. The client needed to make room and contacted universal Wrecking Corp. (UWC) to provide scrap metal recycling and removal contractor services.

UWC provided an excavator with a shear attachment as well as laborers with torches to cut and size the metal items. The sized metal scrap was then loaded in UWC trucks for deliver to the scrap mill.

The project was completed on schedule and without injury or incident. In addition, the client was paid for the scrap metal.
